Personally, I love Russian people and the accent both. Russians are some are the smartest people I know. (that's probably why they made such good villians in old cold war suspense movies. The Chinese just aren't intimidating. Although, I think nowadays Russia is probably thought of more as source of mail order brides, porn, and vodka than nuclear warfare and 5-year plans). Russian girls also seem to be very beautiful and if my friends could be classified as typical they are also excellent cooks.
I don't understand the language, so I can't comment on that. All I know is that it's supposed to be a Slavic language that's difficult to learn and written in Cyrillic.
But I'm only 26 and my parents probably heard different propoganda

As a person who speaks russian, it's a "square" language and very difficult to learn for people who got used to roman letters. That depends on how good u are with languages. It's a challenge to learn. My bfd thinks it's very sexy.....lol
Though i'm speaking english 99 % of the time, i still miss speaking russian. There just ain't enough people to talk to. LOL
Would love to go to Brighton Beach and get some favorite food and BEER.

I'm learning Russian from books.Reading and writing not to bad to learn, speaking more difficult but I find listening to Russian difficult as some words run into others.I also find genders make life difficult with words changing for masculine/feminine/neutral. I love the challenge but would like to have someone to practice on. Recent visit to Moscow found locals intolerant of my inability to communicate fluently but young people very helpful and supportive. Good language good people don't knock it till you try it

it's a harsh sounding language. I always think I am being scolded. The only thing I know for sure about Russians is that they have taken over Organized Crime in the U.S. they are ruthless vatos!
