i see someone answer with this part of the bible in regards to a question on psychic abilities
A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death. (Leviticus 20:27 NAB)
so why am I not being stoned ?
is the law above God ?
if it is then why are the old laws still quoted ?

you know me, I mean, you "know" me only from the internet, and we've had talks.

I believe you have seen many of my questions over the months, maybe you remember may you don't but back in the summer I hit heavy on the Old Testement,

why this why that,

the response was pretty much the same, they point to Jesus and all the other stuff doesn't matter.

Your question, which is essentially my question also, is why do people keep referencing the old testement if they aren't using it?

While your religious believes have you categorized as I believe wicca or neopagan, I don't understand enough about your label of choice, and I of course am a sort of atheist agnostic,

but you will notice that you and I, and many of the wicca here and pagan neopagans here, really get along well with the atheists and the agnostics,

and the answer is intellectual compatibility,

your question is basically . . here is a quote from your book that says I am to be stoned, and its in this part here, leviticus, and you say we don't follow that part anymore, but there is still this use of that part.

What we have is a stalemate, between the us'es and the them's.

Jesus said that only he who is without sin could cast the first stone (John 8). So we don't stone people for sinning under the New Testament.

The early apostles agreed that the only part of the Law of Moses that still applied to the church under the New Testament were the ones that were strictly moral in nature, and not those which only served to set apart Israel as a nation, or else soley pertained to the Israeli Theocracy which no longer existed (Acts 15; Galatians 3 & 5, for examples).

there is no law above God, that quote is from the old testament we are covered by the new testament - perhaps you should read some of the bible to understand more between the purpose and ending of the old testament and the meaning and purpose of the new testament - a sixth sense is not of God,

Why do people insist on incorporating the Old Testament with the New testament?
I will tell you why.

Because this means that I would have to let go of money, any rights granted to me by humanity, give up my place to live, run around in rags, go hungry and thirsty, be abused or judge by my "cover" instead of my "contents", hang with people society has determined "unworthy", be an outcast, smell like a bum and TOTALLY, I MEAN TOTALLY TRUST THE LORD TO HANDLE ALL MY NEEDS! And should I die by, gunshot, beating, robbery, poisoning or any other means, That the ONE and ONLY will do as HE PROMISED!

So to get around the NEW (CONTRACT) TESTAMENT, they claim the NEW and incorporate the OLD (CONTRACT) TESTAMENT only because of the money that it will allow them the LUXURIES and justify this with ... IF SELF, AND SELF, OR SELF, BUT SELF.

Does that sound like denying yourself with the NEW (CONTRACT) TESTAMENT? Not to me it doesn't.

Well, maybe you should be stoned, but Christ said in the New Testament that he who is without sin should cast the first stone, so I suppose none of us qualify as sinless stoners.

It wasn't talking about those with psychic abilities anyway, it was talking about divining thru witchcraft and demonology.

the new testament is supposed to be the new covenant right? didn't jesus stop someone from being stoned?

I think I know where you're going with this, but I don't think it will help.

I'm fairly certain that no one here, even the most hateful, would actually stone you (in person). But I could be wrong.
