Show your gratitude by thanking them, and letting them know how appreciative you are. The best thing you can do after that is to "pay it forward". Pass the same kindness on to others whenever you have the opportunity. That way the kindness will keep spreading like ripples in a pond.

I have paid my good Samaritans back in different ways.
One I followed around, almost stalking him in the store till he went to the till with his merchandise. I then stepped in and paid his entire bill and thanked him once again.
Another one I sent some gift certificates to from a local chain store.
I will continue to do this for anyone who helps me out above and beyond necessary.

Tell them a heartfelt thanks in restoring your faith in humanity & that you were glad to have them cross your path. & since they don't want a reward let them know you'll do a stranger a favor/or random act of kindness just as they did for you to pass it on. Pay it Forward definitely had a great concept & more people should try to practice it. There aren't enough acts of kindness or respect between strangers. We have become a very rude society.

A good samaritan doesn't do a good deed for payment, but out of the goodness of their heart. A heartfelt "thank you" will be enough.

I think the nicest thing a perosn can do for someone else is send them s thank you card. you dont want to go overload and buy them flowers or something becasue that might come off as creepy, but a card is nice.

If it's someone you know and can get in contact with...make them a cake or a big cookie or something good like that!
If it's a stranger that you may never see again. Shake their hand or hug them and say "THANK YOU SO MUCH" over and over again! Ha! =)

By doing something good for someone else without expecting anything in return. To someone who doesn't expect anything in the first place, gratitude is enough. You can pay back their kindness with kindness to someone else.

People who go out of their way to help others tend to do so without thought of compensation of any kind. It is an act of kindness, and the ability to give, and to assist someone else, is a reward unto itself.
All that is needed, and is most appreciated, is a simple "Thank you", and a warm smile.
