Clearly, the requirements of God must always be valued more highly than those of any human.

(Acts 5:29) We must obey God as ruler rather than men.

In fact, the same Scripture that commands Christians to obey secular governments (or "superior authorities") makes it clear that human authority is RELATIVE to the supreme authority of God.

(Romans 13:1,2) Let every soul be in subjection to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except by God; the existing authorities stand placed in their relative positions by God. Therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God

Godly children are expected to obey parents in almost every circumstance. However, it seems obvious that no child would dishonor the principle of parental subjection by ignoring a parent's command to break the laws of God or government.

(Ephesians 6:1-2) Children, be obedient to your parents in union with the Lord, for this is righteous: “Honor your father and your mother

this is the type of scenario where you put into effect the statement..the end does not justify the means..in other words you want to obey your parents but you know stealing is wrong..well you do not steal to obey your parents. let me give you an analagy..you come from a poor family and your baby sibling is starving...so you rob a grocery store and feed you younger sibling with the food you stole so you sibling can survive..but stesling is a sin and a sin done to create a better outcome is still a sin and can not be justified...therefore it is better to disobey your parents than to succomb to a sin on their behalf.

Matt 24:25, Mark 13:30, Luke 24:32 ". . . this era shall no longer pass until eventually a majority of those issues be performed." Jesus became telling his disciples that "temple will be destroyed, wars, calamities, pretend prophets, and then he would look above the cloud in triumph in the course of the top days, earlier the death of his disciples." a majority of those were reiterated in all the three gospels. yet his disciples died 2000 years in the past. end days did not ensue, and Jesus lied about it or the gospel writers lied about it. regardless of the case, that is the right contradiction of all. because Jesus isn't a god in the different case how ought to a god be incorrect about his own prophecy? Or the bible is only a e book of lies! EDIT: do not attempt to apply sophistry on on-line communicate board. THIS era observed the era of his disciples, and there is not any different which means. Such denials once lower back proves that Christians lie in simple terms to justify their god.

If your parents tell you to steal (or any thing wrong) they are not to be obeyed in that thing.

It is considered work to cut any thing, and a male child is to be circumcised on the 8th day, but what if the 8th day is a Sabbath?

No work is to be done on that day. But it is permitted to circumcise on the Sabbath because it is a greater command.

So is not doing evil because your parents told you if it is a sin.

disobey them because stealing is a sin and honouring their wishes would only cause you to sin... The bible also says to do what is lawfull so obeying your parents to sin is in itself a contradiction.

LOL I did that too the other day. 1st time and I thought what will happen if i toss a random contradiction out their. Atheists and Christians both ate me alive. Don't go for details so much on this forum unless you're going for a laugh. I said something about the existence of dinosaurs alongside humans over a span of 6000 years being impossible or something...lol see you around.

The Bible does indeed teach to respect your parents and obey them and an obvious line is drawn when they try to get you to do something against Gods law. The Bible says to honor them, not to worship them. WIth that in mind we know our parents arent perfect and in fact most parents do ask their kids to do such things. Usually they teach them to do evil things by what they do themselves.

Sometimes the truth in Scriptural teachings arent right there on the surface, but that does not mean God is confused about what he wants us to do contradicting himself.

The bible says to honor your parents, but it also says you owe final and ultimate allegiance to God, and to no other. If your parents tell you to sin, then you should not hesitate to disobey them in that respect. They don't have ultimate authority over you; God does.

Get used to it, the Bible contradicts itself frequently. Just do what everyone else in organized religion does. Forget about it, don't dare question it and move on with your fallacious belief that everything is going to be okay as long as you have faith. Also, now you can't forget this one, it's very important. If anybody asks you to exlpain a contradiction in the Bible, just tell them they are reading out of "context." That works every time

Gotta love paradoxes. The lesser sin is to disobey your parents, so don't steal the object and tell your parents to piss off.
