I wonder by following Christ we are supposed to get to heaven exactly how we are sure if we are following Christ or misled ourselves thinking we are, and then die and judged accordingly.TY?

By staying true to God believing in Him with your whole heart, mind and soul and continue to pray and read His Holy Word.Put all of your faith and trust in Him and He will continue to guide you on your path to Him

join a cult, then you'll have positive reinforcement all over. Or start a christian theocracy where you can kill or jail anyone that makes your brain hurt.
Seriously though, the way i see it, if you try to follow the example of Jesus, things can't go too wrong. What else can you do?

The Bible says that if we ask for bread he will not give us a stone. I believe that if you are sincerely seeking God, he knows the intentions of your heart. If you are trying to follow God, spending time in the Word and praying and then seeking God for answers, you ARE following what God wants you to do.

You need to read the Bible. It's the Word of God. That, and prayer, is how you keep inspired.
