u honestly think that he was preaching for people to worship jesus. or he was worshiping jesus who was not born yet???

doesnt it make sense that jesus is a prophet of god,a dn all prophets had the same message " worhip only one god"?
otherwose, would abraham, will not go to heaven because he did not bow to jesus christ. as well as all the prophets after him.

islam says all people who followed jesus true message " worship god, my creator" and all the people before who folowed the other prophets of god will go to heaven. but only those who did not distort the message.
god told the prophets to tell their people the same message. islam just means submit to god, it has nothing to do with prophet mohammed pbuh, he did not create the religion, he just carried it on from previous prophets.
abraham left his trie because of idolatory, not to go and idolise jesus the human created by god. he is miraculus, not god.

he was asking people to worship someone not born yet???

Judaism says he was a Noachide. Since the laws hadn't come around yet he was only required to follow the laws given to Noah + circumcision.

Let me tell you a story that my rabbi told me:

There are many stories told about the founding of Judaism.
In one, Abraham's father, Terah, is a maker of idols.
Abraham is minding the store while his father is away on business.
He smashes all the idols but the largest, and puts the hammer in that idol's hands.
When his father comes home, he is angry, and asks what
happened.
Abraham says that the largest idol got jealous and destroyed the others.
The father yelled at Abraham because that couldn't happen, the idols were just stone!

For whatever reason, Abraham turned from the moon-worshiping of the farmers of Chaldea and came to a monotheistic belief.
It was at this point that he left his father's house, and started
Judaism, the first monotheistic religion (belief in ONE God).

Other monotheistic religions, such as Christianity or Islam, were essentially off-springs of Judaism.

In the days of Abraham, the term "Jew" was not used.
Instead, you see the term "Hebrew" ("Israelite" only appears after Jacob changed his name to Israel).
The term "Jew" didn't arise until after the Syro-Ephraimite wars of 735-721 BCE (Before the Common Era).

As for Abraham's ethnicity, probably Nabataeans (see second link), a trading people of ancient Arabia, from the city of Ur, located around the Iraq area.

Abraham(pbuh) was a prophet of GOD. Not a prophet of jesus. He is what I consider to be The father. For a simple reason. That is the definition of his name. The exalted father of many. And GOD promised him that his sons shall be many as the stars in the heavens. And that number increases on the daily.

In islam, abraham was a hanif. Or a muslim by definiton. One whom submits to the will of GOD. He has the same GOD as noah(pbuh) and enoch(pbuh). To the greatest description that can be so easy. The lord GOD of israel(pbuh). Not the land, but the man.

Abraham(pbuh) believed in the GOD that is written in the tanach and quran. One of the very essences of that we believe in that which we do. In islam, there is actually a sect that is called hanif muslims. The quran states the religion of abraham being called hanifa. They follow the quran whole heartedly and follow the path of abraham. They do not follow any other book. Not even the hadith.

PEACE!

Actually Abraham was the first jew and through his seed (Issac) the nation of Isreal was born. Ishmeal his illegitamate son is seed in whom Abraham established the nation of islam. Actually Abraham acknowledged the messiah and was waiting for his arrival. Jesus did claim to be God by the way...

John 14:7-10 [7] If you really knew me, you would know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him." [8] Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." [9] Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, `Show us the Father'? [10] Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.

He was definately not Christian, there were no christians until after Jesus and before him no observed Christianity. Christians do not believe that before Jesus Christianity was observed unless they are just wrong.

You are right in saying that the Torah was not given at his time but you are forgetting he still had God around to tell him what to do and he lived his life in service of the Lord as he desired. It was God's will to not give the Torah until later, so like the goal of Judaism, Abraham was fulfilling God's will. Religion, at least monotheistic can be defined as such, the only difference is that they are officially established whereas, the event had not occured. So call it pre-Judaic observance if you will.

You have it all wrong. Abraham was not asking anyone to worship anyone according to a religion. Religion is a series of man made rules and ideals. We as human beings love to get into the intricacies of this religion and that religion. The Bible says Abraham believed God, not followed a religion. Getting to know God is about relationship, not religion. And as for Jesus not being born yet, He clearly stated, "Before Abraham, I am." Nuff said.

Abraham gave rise to a nation of Hebrews -- people who live "on the other side." When we meet Abraham in the Bible in the Book of Genesis, he is already 75 years old. This means that Abraham lived his whole life without prophecy. In an entirely polytheistic world, Abraham chose to see the reality of one God and to dedicate himself to a mission. He did not mind standing "on the other side" -- and that is the meaning of the word Ivri, "Hebrew."

The at present out hate for Muslims comes from the certainty that at an analogous time as Jews basically could desire to get with this device, Islam became formed after the dying and hoopla of Jesus. we don't want to grandfather clause him in, yet they outright rejected him. Oh, that and Christians seem an intollerant lot as that's (a lot to Jesus's chagrin, i'm specific).

All of the "big 3" (Judaism, Islam & Christianity) have a fair claim linking them to Abraham.

We may not know what religion Abraham called himself, but we do know he was a part of some organized religion as he paid tithing to the high priest Melchizedek.
