Hi, i am exactly the same as you.

I've had depression for 11years now. At first the meds worked well, and then over time i became immune to them.

I tryed switching to another type but didn't like them and so i stay on the original ones. The doctor wants me to up the dosage - but i don't want to, as i don't want to take more than what i already take.

Taking what i do now does help a bit - but nothing like when i first started them, and thats how i know that i have become immune.

I can relate with everything you say - i feel just the same as you and i too am tired of fighting with this. Sorry i can't give you any answers of what to do, but i just wanted you to know that you are not alone.xx

I'm like you---I just don't want to get up & once up I just don't want to do anything.
I have medical problems as well as psychiatric problems that sort of limit what I can do. What I do is take my little dog for a walk. First, its really helpful to me to have a dog dependent to me for all his care and I really want to care for him well. Secondly, what my dog and I do (atleast once a day) is go for a walk. We may walk in the forest near our house, or we might just walk around the blocks in our neighborhood. Exercise does make it better for me. It may even energize me to do more around the house.

I know it sounds strange but EXERCISE. My doctor says about 30 min of heart pounding exercise a day is as good as a prescription anti-depressant.( which I took for many years) You have GOT to make yourself exercise. It releases natural anti-depressant hormones in your body

ive had depression for about seven years. i find medication really does help, and that you're probably not on the right one. cymbalta is working really well for me right now. i tried the whole exercise thing it didnt help my depression. it was nice and i still exercise all the time, but it doesnt help with true clinical depression. therapy has helped me tremendously, and you need to learn to love yourself.

it took my doctor several tries to find one that works for me, he also suggested getting a cat (pet). he said that the animal will be a helpful companion. i found this to be true. my husband can take care of himself, but the cat relied on me to take care of it.
