Yes. I suffer from anxiety and social phobia (along with depression and stuff). I try not to let it affect me, but its pretty bad at the moment, and I'm only managing to leave the house once a week for my cognitive behaviour session. Hopefully I'll get back up to twice a week soon.
The more often I go out, the easier it is. Once I've left it a couple of days, it does get really hard to leave. Its hard to explain, its not laziness, it is a real fear thats keeping me in. I'd love to be able to go out whenever I wanted. To just be able to walk to the shops without a second thought.

I used too. It became so bad I wanted to die, since that (of course) was not an option I sought help. Just going to the Dr. took so much effort, as soon as I walked to my car I felt like i could not breathe...it was crazy. I have had this condition now for 15 years and every year it gets better. I can shop, go to movies, go to friends and family and even travel about an hour outside of my "comfort zone" on good days. My friends and family understand and help support me emotionally. You HAVE to seek help from a trained professional, who may or may not put you on meds. Zoloft was the miracle for me...but everyone DNA is different and you may have to try a few different meds. to find just the right one. Just know your not alone :)

I have to force myself to go out. I tell myself I go out daily for my dog, but really its for me. We go for a walk in the neighborhood or in a nearby forest about once a day. I'm not really up to seeing people most of the time, so we go for our walk at a time when I will not see people too often.

You have to keep going out and testing your boundaries or you will become housebound.
