My mother-in law will celebrate this year 20 years of being breast cancer free and I would like ideas to pay tribute to this occasion. I'm not looking to do a party or anything like that. Just something personal that says I remembered.

My 5 year cancer free is in October, how fitting right! However, I want to celebrate My Best Friend and 4 other close Friends who were at my side through it all! With out them and there support I don't think I could've made it! I want to give the girl's something, we're taking a cruise together, any ideas?

Well on June 5th next year will be my 10 years. To help celebrate and raise money for cancer reserch, me and a whole bunch of people are growing our hair out to get cut off next year and donate to Lock Of Love. Locks Of Love is a non profit group that makes wigs for kids who have lost thier hair from cancer and other things. Maybe you can figure out some way to celebrate the anniversary by rasing cancer awareness or have a benifit for the Cancer Socitey or local cancer group in your area. Make it about helping other people make it 20 years cancer free. And congrats to your mom. I wish her another 50 years cancer-free.
God Bless.

Simple and meaningful things mean the most, and the best times happen when its not too "fussy".What are her hobbies or her favorite activities etc.Have lunch at a new restaurant or find a real British type tea shop to have a "spot" and a crumpet. You can just go off together and end up where-ever you wind up etc. Congrat's to your M-inlaw on this very happy occasion.Take care. SW RNP

I think the perfect card would be ideal. Check w/ your local Hallmark, they just released a new line of cards for this type of occasion and you might just find the perfect one. That's very, very sweet of you- good luck!

why don't you go to a nice park take a picnic and a bottle of wine and release a pink balloon to mark the occasion.

How about tickets to some special play or show that she would enjoy? A huge bouquet or dinner somewhere fancy would be nice too.

take her out for a nice night on the town, dinner, a movie or play, buy her flowers (my family gets me daffodils) get her a card with something sappy in it just to say that you love her and you're happy to have her still in your life :)
