ok so my daad has pps and i have alot of the similarities on myself like he does and at times those same similarities feel weaker than other body parts and hurt sometimes when i work out or cant lift as much weight as the others can .......... am i in any sort of danger if so what should i do and if not can i continue excessive and extreme workouts like everyone else or will that trigger some sort of problem to come up ??bottom line is i just wanna know can i continue working out without the fear of worrying about it all or should i take precautions...if you can give me some references i can call to find out my queries in toronto

Alright, I'm not a doctor-so you should probably ask yours at some point, but while i was looking up stuff about this question it seemed to me that only people who have had polio in the past can get pps. And as far as i could tell polio is not transmitted through a blood line. So unless your dad had polio while you were a child i think you should be fine. ANd if he did have it while you were a child then you need to have some blood tests done to see if you ever contracted it.

If you did contract it then you should definitly worry about getting pps later in life

If you did not have it then i think you should be fine-and i would attribute your weakness in body part to joint problems which sometimes you just get skewed and have because of heredity
