That is a bond, to get out of jail while they hear his deportation case. Talk to a lawyer, because whoever pays the bond is going to lose that money if he gets ordered deported and does not leave. It is very likely he will get ordered deported if he does not get a good lawyer.

call him back and ask him why he nieeds 5000 becuse they will take your money and he still gets deported. once he is proven to be iliegal, then he is gone. they only thing he can do is get a good lawyer and pray he does not get deported however if he gets a lawyer. It can make things twice a bad and he could instantly be sent back. tell him a time and place and meet him by the fence when he comes back

Contact the local office of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, DRO. Find them in the blue pages of your phone book. It is not a $5000 fee it is a $5000 bond to guarantee your friend's appearance at future hearings.

That doesn't even sound right. I never heard of anyone being able to get out of being deported by paying money. Are you sure it wasn't bond to get out of jail, or something?
In any event, if ICE picked him up, he should have an 'alien number' so you can get in touch with him to get details.

Call the local consulate, there is a good chance that they will not give you any information unless you are a close friend or famiy member. It will take a while to get ahold of the right person, but it can happen.
Something to think about, there is a good chance that the cost of a coyote is less than that of the $5,000.00 fee.

Don't waste your money on any ILLEGAL CRIMINAL ALIEN. He broke the law and now he has to pay for that. Let them deport him as is right. If you want to spend that kind of money on him, help him apply for citizenship through legal channels. Although, now that we know he has no respect for our laws, I doubt he will be allowed to immigrate legally, something he should have thought about before he broke our laws.

I'm sure you need to get a hold of the Mexican consolant in your state. Most of the time the immigration will have a hold on him. Sometimes they say you need to pay 5000 but even when you pay he will be sent back. Find a immigration lawyer and find out if there is anything you can do.
One thing if he cant read or speak English don't let him sign anything in English even if they say to sign.
Good luck to you and your friend

I do not know of such a fine.
Your "friend" may have bad circumstances that have led him to this point, but he is a criminal, and he should be punished. Tell him to go back to the country that he has abandoned, and to be happy that he didn't get a bullet in his head.
Buenos dias!
