christian and catholics, i've noticed more than any try and convert those who do not believe in what they do. they classified people as witches and heretics back in the day and had them hanged for having different ideals, i do not understand. speaking as a christian, why is it a big deal to have a mind and a voice to use? why would god give us both if either were the true "religion"?

christians and different sects of christianity, including catholosism, tend to push their religion on others. they are blinded by their ignorance. they would hang their "heretics" and "pagans" and slap a "witch" tatoo across their forehead because they have a different ideal. if thier "god" gave them a voice and a mind, why is it forbidden to use it?

Well basically every religion is a theory, unless every single word of it's holy writing is proved by archeology or one of it's represents die and see the God of his religion himself, but then no one alive will find it out. As every religion is a theory from the view of science nobody can be sure that his religion is the true one. Personally I do like Gandhi speaking about this: "The true God has no religion"

Well, as a Christian, you would understand that God has the only truth by which people may be saved. As a Christian myself, I see that following Scripture includes a duty to bring other people to God's truth. If you saw someone running blindfold toward a cliff, it would be a terrible thing if you did not try to stop them. This is the same way.
People who say things like "religion was made for wars" and nonsense like that don't deserve the ear of anyone who thinks for themselves. Religions come about as people try to understand what is beyond the realm of understandability. There really can only be one that is right. Relativism, as popular as it is, is nothing more than evasion of an important issue. What really is the reason we are here?
God gave us Scripture, but as the first poster said, it was free will that ended us up with multiple religions, as well as Satan trying to pull people away from God. True religion, as it is defined in James, has to do with how you treat other people. Also, it's important to remember that religion is a result, not a cause of behavior. Religion is a result of a relationship with God through his son Christ Jesus. God empowers us through the Holy Spirit to have a life pleasing to God, if we submit to him as our Lord.

Holy books say the truth but people do not obey as if they haven't heard such a thing .
Koran 2:256
There shall be no compulsion in religion: the right way is now distinct from the wrong way. Anyone who denounces the devil and believes in GOD has grasped the strongest bond; one that never breaks. GOD is Hearer, Omniscient.
Koran 30:31-32
You shall submit to Him, reverence Him, observe the Contact Prayers , and - whatever you do - do not ever fall into idol worship. like those who divide their religion into sects; each party rejoicing with what they have.
Koran 29:46
Do not argue with the people of the scripture (Jews, Christians) except in the nicest possible manner - unless they transgress - and say, "We believe in what was revealed to us and in what was revealed to you, and our god and your god is one and the same; to Him we are submitters."
Koran 9:6
If one of the idol worshipers sought safe passage with you, you shall grant him safe passage, so that he can hear the word of GOD, then send him back to his place of security. That is because they are people who do not know.

God gave us the gift of Grace through His most precious Son. Anything else is wrong, but people are free to believe what they want.
May God Bless you.

Mostly because reasoning is hard, and few people learn to do it. If anyone in a denomination could read scripture and think, they would head for the door, for YHVH demands it!

Ignorance ruled, rules, and will continue to do so...if people picked up a history book and actually read it, they'd see that religion was made as an excuse to justify war. that's the only 'true' religion.
