As others have said if there is no additive it does not go bad. In fact, when speaking of the whiskey/bourbon/scotch types of alcohol, they actually get smoother with age as long as they remain sealed and air-tight. Hand a scotch drinker a 50 year old bottle of single malt and you will see one happy man!

Assuming that, by hard liquor, you mean vodka, whiskey, gin, that kind of thing, it does not go bad. Spoilage of food & drink is caused by bacteria growth, alcohol is a disinfectant (i.e. it kills the bugs that make things go bad). Depending on how carefully it is stored, what type and quality it is, and on other factors, however, it can lose flavor and smoothness over time. Keep it in an air-tight container (original bottle is fine, so long as there's not a cracked cork or top) out of direct heat and light and it will last for years and years.

As long as the liquor does not have some kind of additive(like the seasonal eggnog Jack Daniel's or the like) it can keep pretty much indefinitely! Just don't let it be exposed to air for any length of time, otherwise the vinegar producing fungus's may invade and turn your booze into vinegar!!!!

Hard liquor never goes bad as long as you keep it air tight (alcohol evaporates) and store in cool dry place.

Your vodka will be fine as will most liquers. If they have a high sugar content they may crystallise around the neck of the bottle but should still be ok to drink. Baileys or any other cream liquer will go off faster. White wine is good in the fridge for about a week and red wine will be ok for around a week too.

I've had this decanter since 1980 of Elvis w/bourbon whiskey. If i ever start
drinking again I would say it would be the best bourbon I have ever tasted.
