Apples - peeled, cored and chopped
4 c. sugar
4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. salt
Fill crock pot heaping full with apples. (Lid may not fit at the start.) Drizzle sugar and spices over apples. Cover, cook on high one hour and then lower heat and cook all day until thick and dark color. Stir occasionally. Cool; put into jars. May freeze.

DIRECTIONS
Place the apples in a slow cooker. In a medium bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Pour the mixture over the apples in the slow cooker and mix well.
Cover and cook on high 1 hour.
Reduce heat to low and cook 6hours, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is thickened and dark brown.

Crockpot Spiced Apples Recipe
2 quarts peeled, sliced apples
2-1/2 cups water
1/4 cup cinnamon candy
1/2 cup - 3/4 cup sugar, according to your taste preference
1/3 cup Thermo-flo or Clearjell
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
Place apples in slow cooker. Combine remaining ingredients and stir until thickening agent dissolves. Pour over apples. Cover. Cook on high 3 hours. Serve hot with your main meal or chill and serve with whipped cream and chopped pecans, or as a topping for ice cream or as a base for apple crisp.
