My roommate just recently noticed a growth on the bone of her foot right below her achilles tendon. It is hard and looks disturbing, so we wanted to figure out what it was. Please help!

Well is it painful? Hard? Rubber like? Soft feel?
it can be anything from neuroma to scar tissues of tendon due to overuse...

Sounds like either a callous or a cist. If she's worried about it she should check with her doctor.

could be a severe callous from wearing bad shoes. skin gets dry. it could be infected with fungus. i'm no doctor but i play one on tv....lol....go to a real Dr
