slow metabolism

They might eat little but they dont eat the right type of food so their metabolism slows down. That's why a balanced diet plus a bit of exercise is the key to achieve our appropriate weight.
Of course I'm talking about people with no thyroid problems or stuff like that.

Having said this, the situation you are talking about is not very common. Most fat people that say they eat very little are kidding themselves. They probably snack constantly.
Air doesn't make you put on weight, just take a look at starving people from third world countries...

If you eat ten cookies at 200 calories each, you have eaten your calorie intake for the day. You didn't eat any breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can eat cookies, but don't eat so many.

Exercise does help lose calories, but it's smarter to just eat less in the first place. It's the little things that make you gain weight.

I hate that everyone says that someone eats too much, and thus they are ___. It's what you eat, and how much. I can eat 2 cookies a day, and be perfectly fine. I just have to watch the other food I eat.

Generally it is because they lie! There are some simple laws of physics which state that energy can neither be created nor destroyed. With a little allowance for small variations in metabolic weight and a few patients with endocrine (gland) disorders, we are generally what we eat and as importantly what we don't do!

You have to come to terms with what your body needs. Unfortunately some of us are more inefficient with calories and therefore we get fat. I have spent 30 years controlling my weight. I have managed it as I weigh 9st 3lbs at the age of 47 ( I am 5ft 4ins) but it has been a life of bloody abstinence and hell. To compensate though, I just had my blood checked and I am in peak condition cholesterol wise, blood pressure wise and everything else, so there are benefits from abstaining. Good luck.

I was told that my body produces too much insulin and does not know what to do with it...so EVERYTHING I eat turns to FAT. Isn't that just fricken wonderful? Never told me if there was a treatment. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Because they eat very little of the wrong kind of foods and because they don't eat enough so their body thinks there is a famine and starts trying to hang onto the fat - its a survival tactic.

normal from a decreased metabolic function from a genetic predisposition along with lack of proper nutrients and exercise. substantial increases in fat will also be the product of several factors.

They eat more than they think they do. Seriously. It's a simple equation - more calories in than burned = weight gain.

There are RARE exceptions, such as people on chronic prednisone treatment, Cushings disease, Prader-Willi syndrome, etc.
