The best answer ive ever heard to this was half the older persons age plus 7. 14/2=7+7=14, 18/2=9+7=16, 22/2=11+7=18, 30/2=15+7=22, 40/2=20+7=27...... and so on like that.

No, I do not think it will be a problem, if you love each other, and you have a head on your shoulders and you know how to handle yourself. And don't let others try to tell you different, follow your heart and you will be fine. I like dating older guys myself. when I was 20 I dated a guy 11 years older then me, we dated for 7 years. Yes we eventually broke up but it was not because of age. Now I'm 30 and I'm in love with a guy who is 43 years old.

If you are the typical immature, fun loving, airheaded 22 year old female then yes it will most definitely cause a problem in the future and in fact you'll probably turn out to be one of his biggest regrets ever.
If you're actually grown up at that age though then everything could work out rather nicely.

Truthfully sweetheart no one on here is going to be able to make that decision for you! But don't automatically assume that it wont work out...... My man is 15 yrs older than I am, and I would much rather be with him than the man whores my age!
He may have a past you might not like dealing with, but his maturity and life experiences will make the relationship sooooo worth it. Just know that if he isn't right for you shouldn't be together and if he is right for you it doesn't matter what anyone else believes!!!! Good luck!

It depends on what the both of you want for the future. If this is a serious relationship you should sit down and talk about your future goals as individuals and see if they will work together. If it is a new relationship, just have fun and go with the flow. Remember that every relationship has its share of problems.

Sorry but I think your boyfriend may be a bit of a freak - what kind of man who's nearly 40 chases after a girl just out of college? Probably not the kind who is going to settle down with you...you'll be traded in for some other young hottie in a few years.

I think so. I am or was dating a 31 year old and I am 22 that is a little closer, depends on him and what he looks like.

I've dated with a difference of 19 years. Sometimes experience and spontaneity make for a healthy contrast . . .

some say age doesn't matter..but it does. You two are at completely different places in your life. if you want to make this work just make sure you both know what you want out of life in the next few years such as education, career goals, marriage and kids.
