if your talking about someone fancying you, and you dont know how to react, dont do anything different. carry on being the great mate that you are. acknowledge there feelings, but realise it doesnt have to change anything, if you dont fancy them in return, dont let it spoil your friendship, i would be flattered, just be gentle, lol. if you fancy a mate but dont know how they will react, tell them. if they are a decent friend then they will act as above. it needn't change anything. i was in a similar situation and although i felt pretty stupid when he rejected me, we are stil really good friends and im happy hes still there for me, even if it is as a friend!

Be completely honest & tell them you don't see them that way but that you like being a mate & would like to keep it at that-they'll get over it & see you as just a mate eventually-I used to have a huge crush on a mate but I laugh about it now & wonder what the hell I was thinking!!

tell them kindly that you don't feel the same, but that you really value their friendship and that, in the long run, being friends will be much better anyway. Perhaps try and subtly point them in direction of someone else who actually does fancy them?

Tell them that you are both honoured and flattered that they feel that way and that you only wish that you felt the same way too.
But alas that isn't the case and you hope that this will not interfere with the friendship with them, that you have come to cherish.
