Everyone deserves respect....but NOT special respect because they are a cop, doctor, lawyer or any other thing. I don't think this means Darren has an issue with the police.....Some police I respect and some I don't depends on the person....

Should I have to respect the officer who said to my 15 year old son and his friend...."If you move I'll shot to kill!"

A tree was on fire and they where trying to put it out when the cops came...they sat down as was told when the police came...they NEVER tried to run....they did not have weapons or anything illegal on them! They where NOT read any rights! when I ask about that I was told..."they weren't under aresst they where detanies" (sp) the officer was ticked off cause my son envoked his right to remain silent even though he didn't get read that right to him....he was then trown against the car...had cuffs slapped on him and THROWN into the police car and told "this is how we deal with smart@sses.....nope I have NO respect for that man.

They deserve to be respected for their job. They put their life on the line every day for us. The cops that do not automatically deserve respect are the ones who command it. The true cops that deserve respect are the ones who are not on the news every day talking about what they did, but the ones who quietly protect their nation, go home and do it again the next day.

Not at all. I mean, I respect a cop the way I would respect any other person, but they dont deserve any special treatment just because they have a uniform and badge.

You should respect authority if the authority is discharging their duty in a legally proscribed manner. You probably don't know the man behind the badge anyway.

EVERYBODY (outside of prison cell bars) DESERVES RESPECT. Period.

You should greet EVERYBODY with yes sir, no sir, or yes ma'am, no ma'am. Police officers, INCLUDED.
