Neither. a friend once worked for a forest service, and drove a big honking truck- because that was what was needed to work in the bloody forest.

Likewise, meat eaters are not all equal. People eating indigenous meats in Northern North America, for example, tend to have a smaller carbon footprint than their neghbors who eat meals high in soy and/or out of season produce.

Its the Cows and the Sheep that are the biggest gas emitters on the globe. That's why we eat them. If we don't we will all be smothered by poison gas. Pass the ribs please!
