Contact the local college, talk to the department that specialises in Childcare, they may have a student that can help you.

Don't look for a sitter for your kids online. Don't you know the internet is full of child molesters and perverts!
What you should do is post it in a campus newspaper or make flyers for a campus nearby. Students are good for babysitting jobs. Make sure that you interview the person and that they come with references from previous sitter jobs. Also, you can have them go to the DPS and get a copy of their drivers record and get fingerprinted with a background check. I've had to do that for a job before and it costs about 50 bucks total. You should pay for it. It's worth the peace of mind.

I think that $100 is very good. Most day cares in my area charge anywhere between $100-150 per child for a week (M-F). The day care services are from 7am-5:30pm. I do not think that you are paying too much.

Go to your local high school and/or college and find out how to post this position within the school. At the college, the elementary education department would probably be your best bet. You can request references from teachers to make sure the applicants are good kids.

You should go to www.sittercity.com (if you are near a major city) and find a sitter in your area. It will cost you a monthly fee, but it's worth it to find peace of mind for your kids.
