my boyfriend whats to get a laptop and i totally support that... he is going to make payments on it witch is also kewl. but i am not trying to sound selfish but i want an engagement ring or something.... he can also make payments on that... i really love him and i want to get married i want to spend the rest of my life with him... i know that a ring costs more then a laptop but i dont know.... maybe i need to just let him get the laptop and not say anything about the ring that i want. i dont know but all i know is that i love him....
what do i do i am so confused and i dont want to ask or say anything about it but at the same time i do.
any suggestions?

You failed miserably; you sound selfish. You are expecting an engagement ring from him, and you are disappointed that he hasn't bought one. Isn't it HIS money?
Have you spoken to him about marriage? You didn't mention that at all, so I assume that it hasn't come up yet. He's not a psychic, is he?
If he really wanted to get married and make that commitment right now, he'd buy you an engagement ring instead of a laptop. Can't you ask him to marry you? I'm still not clear on why you are so confused; if you want the ring so badly, then why don't you just buy it yourself?
Here's a word of caution; get over it. Otherwise, if you get married, you'll end up as the wife who's jealous that he stopped by the bar to get a beer with his buddies instead of the jewelry store to get YOU a gift.
It's not all about you and the sooner you realize that, the happier you'll both be.

I think you should wait until he gives you a ring, and not ask him about it. If you push him he may not want to stick around. If this guy really loves you he will give you a ring in time, its called being patient and waiting for it to happen!

If you are struggling to talk to him about marriage, you are not ready for marriage.
How long have you been dating and how old are you? Maybe it is to soon and you are to young.
