You must be referring to some bible verse about "judging" your fellow man..

We all make judgements. I judge some people to be "scumbags" and I don't allow them near my kids, or me for that matter. I *MUST* make judgements every minute of every day, or else I could not function in society. EVERYONE judges constantly, in that we form opinions about things. This is natural, and it cannot be stopped, nor should it be stopped. It's good and healthy to form opinions and make judgements.

First off, the Bible is a terribly translated book... "Judge" means "Condemn" in this context.

Condemn not lest ye shall be condemned.

So, don't tell people they're going to hell for being, gay, for example, or condemn them for it.

Don't condemn ANY sinners for ANY reason.. mind your own business..

That's what the verse means.

Forming an opinion mean you get to know the person and who they are. Judging is when you don't take the time to get to know them but think that because they are X then they are a bad person.

Honey, it is ok to do either thing .... you need to form an opinion of someone ..... it is important to know what you are thinking ... maybe you are wrong, maybe you are right, but at least your mind is working and ....... you are a human being.... human beings have thoughts!!!! And, if you are wrong of if you need to add to your opinion of someone, do .... for heaven's sake!!!

Judging them ......go AHEAD! You need to use your good judgment to understand what is going on , God put a good head on your shoulders so use it!!!!!!.... you can't sit there and let some little people from the eastern end of the Mediterranean sea 2,000 years ago tell you what to think this very day ....maybe if you met them in person, you would not trust their judgment .... maybe you would think they are wrong .. unless you know they are people to be revered and trusted, you have absolutley no obligation to revere and trust them.

Judges judge all the time: it is not just their provenance ... and no one scolds them .... so why scold yourself?

Don't let people do a number on your head.

Peace & Love

~~~Z ,,, We judge people all the time. We have to. The line we shouldn't cross however is the one where we claim that ,,,Example: The reason he was killed by a drunk driver was because he was out cheating on his wife. ,,, Sure we can make an accurate "judgement" and feel to ourselves that this person is an a**hole because they act just like one. And we are correct. But, we really can't be certain "why" unless we know his 'destiny' or 'karma' and deep psychological motivations.
to judge a person you have conviscted them in your heart at what ever you feel they are doing wrong by yourself with no evidence if you have evidence and witnesses and it is within the church we do have the right to judge
as far as outside of the church we should not do either forming a opinion is close to judging but only God is the judge of our hearts and our intentions.
I guess an opinion is an opservation, and a judgement is a final strong analayis......
Judgement comes from external sources and is not related to the person within. In other words, to judge someone is to decide guilt or innocence, good or bad, based upon their actions or their motive. But the judge does not entertain his/her own thoughts as the basis of judgement.
Opinion, on the other hand, has a lot to do with you and not the one you have an opinion about. You may have met other women with the same name I have and had arguments with all of them, therefore your don't like women with my name. It has nothing to do with me, it has to do with your inner self.
See the difference? I may have the opinion that I don't like men who have hair like yours, but I cannot judge you bad or good based upon my opinion, but upon your own actions.
Quite a huge thing. Its funny because I here all these liberals and unbelievers running around yelling about "tolerance" and "acceptance." Well the last I checked we dont deny them life, liberty, or property. Under the new PC umbrella we see descending on society, simply to disagree with liberals makes you automatically a judge, hate-monger, and bigot. (But its ok to judge the Bible, God, and especially believers; thats a good thing!)
If it is wrong, I judge it wrong.
If it is bad, I judge it bad.
The interpretation of Judge not is not correct as we have been led to believe.
Luke 6:43 "For there is no good tree which produces bad fruit; nor, on the other hand, a bad tree which produces good fruit.
Luke 6:44 "For each tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they pick grapes from a briar bush.
You judge what is produced by the person.
What fruit did Hitler produce?
Was it good?
NO, I don't think so.
A child abuser.
Is that good fruit?
NO.
The religious have had a field day with that teaching.
