I heard white-colored toothpaste helps but be sure to dab it directly on the acne (not on the skin around it) because it can burn and redden the skin! I've used it a few times and it seems to help just as good as a topical cream such as Clearasil.

actually toothpaste does help. It dries out the area and stops the breakout. It is better to use an acne medication, but if you can't due to allergies this is a safe alternative. Stick to any regular paste...no gel.

It helps as an on the spot emergency remedy. The reason is that is dries out the skin/pimple area. Any toothpaste will work (not a gel). You do not want to use it as a frequent medicine.
