Generally, the more time a tattoo takes to apply, the more expensive it is. You're paying for the tattoo artist's time.
The size can affect this as well as the color, as it takes more time to lay in colors.

The more detail there is in a tattoo, the more color and the bigger it is...yes the more pricey it gets! Also, a good studio probably asks more for it then a cheaper semi professional. Always go for a professional tattoo artist! Rather save your money a little longer untill you can afford a really good artist to do your tattoo, then to get it done cheaply by someone else. Remember, you'll have to walk around with it for the rest of your life. Maybe it's a good idea to ask other people where they get their tattoos done - don't be shy to do so! I once asked a girl in a shop where she had her gorgeous tattoo done, and she felt it as a compliment that I had asked her.

Yes, size matters. Bigger means more time means more expensive. Also, more detail means more expensive.

And, the fame and skill of the artist will also effect the price. A small tattoo from Ami James of Miami Ink fame will cost a lot more than some no-name guy.

Factors to consider: size, placement, detail, and color. Tattoos aren't cheap ok, Cheap tattoos ain't good and good tattoos ain't cheap. Price isn't something that should be a problem quality is more important.

I just got my first one, and i think it really depends on how good the artist is, i have a very small star and it was $60, it took all of five minutes to do, so depending on the piece and the detail, then you will get your price

It varies based on the experience of the artists doing it, size, color, is it lettering? All of this effects the price of the tatt. Just be cautious of pricing, you get what you pay for.

There is no set price, every place charges differently. It will range in price by size, and yes, they charge for each color used.

Depends on who is doing your tattoo. The shop I go to charges by the hour, and it is all custom work. He charges $100 per hour, and remember to tip your artist!

Anywhere from $25 to thousands, depending on the size and who's doing them.

As to the regret you are going to live with the rest of your life for getting a tatoo and then lying to yourself and everyone that you like it.......well, that's PRICELESS
