Quick and easy way? This is a relatively new offering. One of my USMC friends sent it to me.

According to the National Personnel Records Center you can get a copy of your DD214 on line. I haven't needed to try it but give it a shot.

You get "a" DD214 by joining the military and being discharged after completeing service. You can find "your" DD214 through the department of military affairs. But I get the feeling you don't have one and want one for a bad reason.

Its real easy, all you have to do is enlist into the military, when you get out they will give you a DD214 free of charge.

I am a military veteran and I can tell u that all u need to do is go to your local Veteran's Affairs office. Most offices are located at county courthouses or office buildings. Tell them that u need a copy of your DD 214 and they can help u get one.

Contact the National Archives and Records Administration or, if you are still within your mandatory years of service (those year that you are liable for), contact the records center for your branch of service. You can look up NARA online. I've gotten my 214 from them twice in this manner.

You have to request one from the DoD, but I hope you don't need it soon, because it takes them about a year to send you a copy.
