Losing muscle is my goal, don't ask why. I'm going to try to eat as little protein and sugar as I can, will I lose muscle and fat?

You will not lose muscle if you use your carb energy to do your weight training

There are a couple of things that you can do to lose muscle when you are losing weight.... do a lot of cardio and lift no weights at all or eat little to no protein and don't exercise at all. But, you'll have to be anorexic to do that successfully. I'm not trying to joke or be funny when I say that... it's just the honest truth.

But anyhow, just RUN like heck all the time. If you are in good shape, run at an incline because the higher the incline, the more calories you burn that running at no incline at all.

Example... I walk about 4.5 MPH (speed walk) at an incline of 8 for an hour. I run the last .25 mile in each mile. I run it at a 6-7 MPH at an incline of 3-4. I get in about 5 miles in an hour and burn almost 700 calories doing that! The only way I've EVER been able to build muscle is to lift weights.

If you eat little protein and limit your calories.... your body will go into a storing mode at first and slow your metabolism down to keep those calories you eat. So you may not lose weight or muscle during the first two or three weeks. Eventually, after your body gets used to the idea.... you will have no fat to burn, so your body will burn the muscle.

I just want you to know that if you plan on losing a lot of muscle, do it safely. Don't try to lose a lot in a short amount of time. It can make you sick and the future side effects are very dangerous.

Good luck! I hope this helps!

to substantially decrease the amount of lean body mass the body must be kept in an extended catabolic state to cause muscle wasting. when this occurs lipolysis, the metabolization of stored fatty acids and the conversion of those lipids to ATP will halt.

so to lose a noticeable amount of muscle mass it will come at the expense of an increased amount of body fat.

NO, you can't lose muscle by exercising. Try lifting low lb weights at High reps. That should do it.
