I don't think you can actually "hear" the spirit of Gods guidance. I think it's more something you feel.
He guides you in the right direction through emotions and feelings. If you truly Love God and put ALL of your faith in him, you will FEEL his guidance, and ultimately know he is there on your side, guiding you to the right path in life...
Through Prayer and faith you will receive his guidance...

Be quiet and listen for the Scripture that comes to you. You may have to be still for awhile, but meditate on Scripture and the verses you've learned. Think of your problem, or the guidance you need and ask God for His Word (the Bible's words) to come to you.

Sometimes through scripture, sometimes through otheres... sometimes you can hear God in the middle of a circumstance, once in praying about a relationship I was having God gave me an opportunity to witness to someone... thereby answering in a way I hadn't thought of but which helped me never the less. I even believe God communicates through dreams. God knows specifically the best way to communicate with you though, just be open to Him. Pray He will make His message loud and clear, just be careful because He will do just that!

Pray with a strong and sincere desire to know the truth. The spirit will guide you to what is right. I find it happens when I pray in a quiet place when I really want to know answer (and have the faith). The spirit will prompt your thoughts. I testify to you that the spirit will guide you to the truth if you pray, desire, and keep your mind open.

Listen to God when you go in a very quiet place, have an open heart, and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you as well.
In today's noise world, it is difficult to hear God, but go to a park, or a private garden and it is doable. Good luck.

Well, I personally read my favorite book, which is the greatest Book in the world, in my opinion that is, and a lots prayers to our HeavenlyFather.
Eventually when your prayers are answers, you will actually find the answer where God is guiding you where he wants you to be. Also sometimes God answers prayers by having others to do what he wants or guide you to where you are needed according to his wishes.

This happened to the Jews because of the fact they grew to become their backs on God and positively stated "we don't prefer you, we don't prefer you." This replace into an basic occurence with them you comprehend. This did not take place out of skinny air. You have to be still and listen. Sometimes the guidance of God comes thru other people, thru your heart or into your conscience, or sometimes it is just a feeling you get. Let go and let God He will guide your path if you allow Him to
