The application process can sometimes be very long winded and in the worst case scenario may take up to 2 years. A lot depends on circumstances - are you bringing family, is your move connected with your work, are you moving to the UK to study, are you of good character etc.

The name of the city is Newcastle. There's several places in the UK with the same name but when people talk about Newcastle it's generally with reference to the city in the north east of England, the full name of which is Newcastle-upon-Tyne (the Tyne being a river). The other large place called Newcastle is Newcastle-under-Lyme which is next to Stoke-on-Trent in central England.
