You have the right to wright anyway you want to. I would not respond to a person who wrote a question this way, but the content is interesting.

I think it is because it makes you look dumber than you probably are. Why dumb down?

Perhaps it is the 21st century, but when communication relies on written words, it's important to write clearly and spell correctly in order to communicate your point. When you talk on the phone, you try and avoid mumbling or doing other things that might impair the ability of the person you're talking to, and the same should go for your written communication on the internet. Insulting you, and others, however, is probably not the best way to get that point across, but perhaps explaining how it might impede your ability to get questions answered will.

If I saw a question like yours posted to a forum I usually frequent, I would very likely ignore it-not because it's not worth answering, but because if I'm going to take the time to share what I know, and craft an answer that responds to specific concerns, it seems like the person with the question should be considerate and take the time to communicate what he or she wants to know in a clear manner too.

Because some people still have respect for the English language. Are you so lazy that you can't type like a normal person? I read in the paper the other day that some kids are using this stupid "IM speak" in their school essays. Stop being so lazy and add the extra two letters to the word! I email and text all the time and type real words. It doesn't take me any longer to type normally.

My opinion is some people just think they are so much better than others for what ever reason. If hes so concerned about spelling he shouldnt be on these sites.....I was corrected rudelly once about a way i worded something, we all come from differnt places backgrounds etc....I'll talk the way I like... and you spell the way you want..........

Using proper grammar shows respect to our language and to the person you are writing to. Your example just shows disrespect and laziness. I'd think you to be rude if I received an email like that, wouldn't even take the time to read it. Please stop slaughtering our language.

Rudeness is the (apparent) disrespect and failure to behave within the context of a society or a group of people's social laws or etiquette. These laws have already unspokenly been established as the essential boundaries of normally accepted behaviour. To be unable to align one's behaviour with these laws known to the general population of what is socially acceptable would considered rude.

There is a spectrum of the severity of what one would consider rude.

Some spelling mistakes can be overlooked, but purposefully making mistakes, there is no excuse.

because it just shows you're lazy. writing like an actual person won't make you any " less cool " or anything. it took me five minutes just to decipher what you wrote.
