Didn't Lucifer actually commit the first known sin, or does this not count because he was an angel?

Yes. Lucifer committed the first sin. He introduced sin into this world. However, Adam and Eve were the first of mankind to sin.

- Lucifer isn't what is referenced by original sin because, although he did sin, if he had been the only one then God wouldn't have punished the human line.

- We suffer only because of what Adam & Eve did not Lucifer.

Satan and his hosts were cast out of heaven for being against the plan of God. I guess it would be the first sin, but if you are talking about the first sin on earth it would be different.

yes this was the first sin. and angels have a free will too, just not as free as us, as there isn't any redemption for angels.

the first sin was rebellion. Satan got jealous/proud and tried to overthrow God, so he got kicked out.
