It worked for me to get up super early and go before work. That way it is done for the day and have that sense of accomplishment. I usually would really wake up about half way thru my elliptical routine.
Treat it like it is an appointment, that you have to be there at a certain time!

If you can. bring your gym clothes to work, and change when your leaving.
Hook in other things you do, like picking up dinner, etc.
Remind yourself several times during the day, especially at around 1 hour before work is over- and have a snack.
REALLY work with someone to find a gym workout that you love, that you look forward to, and bring music too.
Join a gym that is between work and home, and one with attractive people to gawk at helps too. :)

Its hard and will be harder on those hotter days coming.. for now.. just visualize the body you want and go for it. Dont think about it just drive there and get off car and change fast.. once you start you wont want to stop.. good luck..
-from a new after work gym hitter myself, going on 2 wks now.

come up with a goal u can strive for in the short term and stick to a regimen of so many work out days per week.
