I choose my religion after much research, soul searching, and prayer. Asatru gives me strength in daily life and gives me a fulfillment in life that no other religion ever could do.
I was raised as a Christian, everyone told me it was the right religion, and in fact many still do. However, it is not the right religion for me. There is no one true religion or one that is right for everyone.

I was born and raised in the Episcopal Church, just as my family has been for many, many generations. I always loved going to church. But when I got a bit older, I developed a great sense of curiosity, and began exploring other faiths. I have now attended many different types of religious services and am constantly reading about other beliefs. However, after much research, I haven't found anything yet that moves me spiritually as much as the Episcopal Church, so I remain an Episcopalian to this day.

I found my religion after years of study. I started look for something else when I was 16 and did not make up my mind until I was in my 20's.

I was raised in the Southern Baptist Church but, much like many Protestants faiths, there was a disagreement and we left that particular church and headed for another Baptist church and eventually became part of a Congregational church. When I reached college, I started to look on my own by way of reading books and listening to speakers, preachers, priests, etc. I prayed and studied and was finally brought home to the Roman Catholic Church. There you go. That's why I'm part of the religion I'm part of.

actually, my religion called me. i didnt even know it existed & what i thought i knew about it was very wrong. there is no "right" religion. there is only the right religion for you. im a wiccan & have always had wiccan/pagan beliefs ever since i was a child & went to church. i remember having always felt a connection to the earth & the air. i also remember telling my parents 1 time that i believed in god, but not the devil b/c i couldnt believe in an ultimate source of all evil (of course i didnt say it like that b/c i was a kid). they told me that in order 2 believe in god i had 2 believe in the devil. then in middle school i started getting into greek mythology & thought that since we have proved that the greek gods dont exist, then how can we believe any god exists (i was naive about the ways of the universe, but it was an important step). after that, i no longer believed in god, but still believed in souls & the after life. i knew something was out there, but didnt know what. then @ 15 i was on amazon.com & saw a book called "To Ride a Silver Broomstick". it called 2 me. i was mesmorized. i ordered it & it touched my soul. it started me on my path by showing me that there r others who believed as i believed & opened up a whole new world for me. i will never forget that moment.

I began as a devout Roman Catholic, Saved, Convicted and Born Again. Then over a few years I became an agnostic then atheist, so I no longer have a religion (atheism is an absence thereof).
I did so because I realized that all the 'evidence' for a deity was better explained rationally, and that there was no evidence to support the deific hypothesis.

Im glad you posted this question because Ive thought about it quite a bit.My parents are United Christians and I am leaning away into the Baptist Church. I want to point out though that we are one church Believers in jesus Christ. Before ever listening to pastors in the Baptist Church or talking with other Baptists I started feeling like getting baptised (as an adult) and spreading the good news of Christ. So I went to my United Pastor and told him that I wanted to get baptised but he said i was baptised as a child so i didnt have to do it again. So I think and have faith that God has encouraged me to go my seperate way.
Good Question!

I did my research on Islam and decided that this is the religion that I believe. So you could say I made the religion by choice, although I personally believe that I was destined to come to Islam.

I simply follow Christ because I think what we have of his recorded words represents the most profound teaching ever recorded. I did the research and I continue to read a variety of opinions, everything from the metaphysical to the skeptics. I don’t believe that any single person has complete understanding of the truths that Christ taught, so I continue to read a variety of opinions. Everything I have studied confirms that Christ’s teachings are truth. Therefore, the only logical conclusion for me is that Christ is who he says he is.
