Depending on the method of execution, it can take several minutes to nearly 30 minutes.
In the long drop method, developed by an English hangman in the 1800's, there is a formula for distance versus weight to exert the correct pressures behind the left ear to snap the neck. When the person is dropped, the jerk snaps the spinal column severing nervous stimulation to the heart and lungs- the person is rendered unconscious and will experience systemic failure within 30 seconds to a minute and brain death shortly thereafter.
In the short drop method, common in many Westerns and lynchings, the victim dies from slow strangulation which will vary in length depending on where the pressure of the rope is placed. If it is on the major arteries, preventing blood flow in, then the person may pass out and experience brain death relatively quickly, within minutes. If it is on the major veins, blood will tend to fill the head/face and the person will become cyanotic but conscious for 3-5 minutes. If the rope produces insufficient pressure to cutoff blood flow and the major point of strangulation is along the windpipe, the person can continue to strangle for 15-20 minutes before losing consciousness. Generally in this method, death occurs within 20-30 minutes.

its just a matter of seconds when all of the air is cut off could take as long as minutes and then if the neck breaks could just hold the airway open you could live long enough for someone to find you and wind up in a hospital hooked up to all of these machines till you just die.

Well it depends... if they break their neck when they drop, it will kill them instantly. If they don't, then there are a lot of things to factor in... weight of the body, width of the neck, etc. ... sometimes it's a long, grueling process. It can take 4-5 minutes sometimes, for a body to slowly and painfully strangle to death.

it relies upon on the rigidity of the autumn and the quantity of rigidity the guy could desire to maintain (a heavy individual could die immediately - a easy individual extremely possibly could carry close there and stuggle for awhile. extremely often, in spite of public hangings, it may could desire to be performed assorted cases till now the guy died. Fish out of water slowly suffocating and inflicting further injury to the windpipe in the technique. this is form of complicated to offer a definitive answer to that question

I have been told that usually their neck is snaped, so instantly, but if it doesent then I hear they choke and I have no idea how long that would take, I dont think the latter happens too often. so for most people it is instantly

Not to be morbid.. but if it is done right they die instantly. If it isn't and their neck doesn't snap then it can take a few minutes from lack of oxygen.

depends on alot of factors, weight, distance of drop....etc, the higher the drop the faster the death due to higher chance of a broken neck, shote drop and no broken neck, well you have to wait till you sufficate, and obvistly a heavier person will drop much faster than a lighter person and that provides a quicker death too..... kids, don't try this at home, please

I think you mean hanged. It's usually improper grammar but when speaking in terms of death, it's hanged. Anyway... to answer your question... I don't know!
