I adopted a pair of brother cats from a neighbor that has taught them to kiss the face (not the mouth) of a person if they want to be petted. Has anyone heard of this? One family member says I should not let them do it to me because of germs, another says it could exfoliate my face the way a good lufah can and its good bonding with the cats. Not sure what to do, any advice would be helpful.

My one cat does this also. He is going on 3 years old- and I love that he does it. He also kisses the other female cat I have - he licks her face all the time and hes just a friendly cat- trust me your lucky to have such good cats!! and dont worry about germs- if people are that worried when coming into your household then they shouldn't be there. And yes it is good bonding with the cats- It means they really really trust you.

A cat's mouth has less germs in it than ours do. There is nothing wrong with the cat kissing you on the face, it's actually quite cute. My cats do this once in aawhile, and I always feel so loved when they do. Forget about the germs, just feel the warmth from the cats and be happy that they show attention.

My cat does this too. I've also heard that it's not good because of germs but I think that as long as it's not your mouth then it's ok.

It's fine, don't worry about germs. It's not like you're letting them lick your tongue or anything.

This is indeed good bonding, and a fine way for the cats to communicate to you what they want.

My cat gives nose-to-nose kisses when she wants attention. :)
