Its gotta be Ali versus Frazier? Ali was so arrogant and rude towards Frazier due to Frazier being mentally weaker than Ali and Ali & Frazier had a real hatred of each other. Even today Frazier still hates Ali for some of the comments that Ali made during there fights such as calling Frazier a big ugly bear and a Uncle Tom?

Nothing beats college football for rivalry's, but Michigan vs Ohio State transcends football. It is an inter-state way of life in both Michigan and Ohio and truly is a world wide rivalry in every sense of the word that eclipses sports.

The following statement is not exaggeration, I have seen it happen. It is the biggest rivalry outside of the Middle East and in truth has caused Arabs and Jews stop fighting with each other to take sides in the Ohio State vs Michigan rivalry.

If a rivalry can cause warring factions in the Middle East to stop bloodshed, I think it qualifies as the biggest rivalry in sports.
