Last night my oldest cat was acting fine. all of a sudden he starts chasing my kitten. My oldest cat starts hissing and making weird noses and for the first time attacked me. What is wrong with him?

Mine did it out of jealousy. We kept one of her kittens and they were fine for 5 months. She just snapped one day. She fought with him and she attacked me and my boyfriend's roomie. Maybe he's jealous. Make sure he knows he's still important to you. Feed him first, greet him first. pet him first. The kitten will learn his boundaries with your other cat on his own.

Cats can have bad moods too. The kitten probably did something to annoy the older cat and the older cat just wanted to be left alone. Hissing is a cats way of letting you know to stay away from him. Maybe he was sick and just wanted to have some peace and quiet. He probably gave you a warning before he attacked you that you weren't listening to. With cats you have to be very aware of their body language and meows because this is the only way they have to communicate with you. Don't worry about it, the cat was just in a bad mood, leave him alone and he'll be fine.

Maybe he heard something you didn't that scared him, or the kitten did something you didn't notice that upset him (cat body language can be very subtle).

The attack on you sounds like redirected aggression - that means the cat is very angry about something that it can't do anything about - for example a strange cat outside the window - and loses control of his impulses for a moment, attacking something/someone ELSE than the actual cause of his anger.

As long as this remains a one-time thing (or something that happens very rarely), I wouldn't worry about it. Should this start to happen a lot, discuss it with your vet, since there might be underlying issues.

I felt that way while i became 30. I remarried and it became a entire catastrophe. in certainty i'm nevertheless paying the cost at fifty 4. So rather than permitting your self to make a determination out of worry, why do no longer you're making a extreme attempt in getting married? You needless to say do no longer want to be on my own. Your emotions are valid. in case you experience that being married is what you like then get married. it may desire to take a twelve months or greater, yet who cares? attempt a sturdy tournament maker service. interior the previous i've got heard human beings say that it could be 'scraping the backside of the barrel'. that may no longer genuine. maximum human beings I meet have met their spouses by using a tournament maker! Dora is suitable, being married isn't any assure those issues won't happen. besides the incontrovertible fact which you have time to stumble on a sturdy tournament, and initiate your retirement decrease cost costs. existence is way less perplexing once you have married nicely.

He probally is threatended you brought another cat into the household. Maybe you arn't giving him as much attention as the kitten, and he feels threatend. Most cats when you bring a new cat home dont like this at first. I would keep them seperated for a while and make sure the older cat knows its still his home- they like to feel like the boss of the house- and the boss of you. Other than that i'm not sure what else could be the problem.

I had one that acted that way and she had earmites. Watch him and see if he is fumbling with his ears.
