you need an SIN (social insurance number) if you want to work legitimately. only 2 ways for you to get it: work visa or resident visa. if you don't want to go through all that trouble... if you know anyone in canada, you can clean their house for two months or something like that.

To work in Canada you must have a work permit ( which will entitle you to live here)
If you are looking to reside here permanently then you need a permanent visa. Check out the immigration canada website. Good luck
