It means he needs his SPACE. He wants to play the field a little I suspect....... a little hint: Leave the smothering to his mother!

Unfortunately, I think it may mean that he is beginning to develop feelings for someone else. If he is the faithful type, he may not have acted on those feelings as of yet, however. I would agree to the space, because fighting it will just drive you apart. Continue to check in and remind him of good memories every now and again. Perhaps he will come around. If not, set a time limit of how long YOU feel comfortable allowing him space. If time passes that exceeds your limits, focus on seeking out what YOU need

Well...it means just what he says. He wants some time to himself, which means you get the opportunity to have some time to yourself. Get back into what you used to do with your freetime before you started hanging out with him all the time. Even if its just staying at your place to read a book, or have a bubble bath. Get in touch with your friends. Do stuff for you. And if after he has his space he still wants out, I am sure that you would have learned of more than a few things to occupy your time. Men respect independent women more than they do clingy women, they respect authentic women even more than independent women. You have to be yourself, not part of a couple, which can be a hard transition sicne thats what you have been for 6 years now, but you will ge through it.

Wow, I am going through the same exact thing right now. I really feel for you. Well, I didn't smother my man but after that many years and they need space? Pffft. We are better off without them I guess. I know the heartache you must be going through and I'm sorry girl.

It means he is feeling smothered by you and that is making him want to break up with you.
I would do just that, go out have fun date other people and show him that you can have a separate life from his. If he still does care and love you he will come running back because he will not want you with anyone else!

Most of the time it means they need time away from you to see what they really want because the relationship y'all have isn't what he's feeling right now and usually they find someone else so Good Luck!

he jus needs a little time away from you so he can see if he really wants to be with you but if he decised that you 2 were not meant to be don't take it bad just think of it as a chance to have some fun and spend some time with the people you left out because of your boyfiend.

That means he has met another girl and wants to see her for a while to compare her to you. You can give him the space he wants and he may come back to you but just know that in the meantime, he'll probably be banging another girl. So he does come back to you later, be sure that you use protection with him from that point onward.
