Flight time varies by headwinds ... generally (the first poster is correct) the time in the air is about 5 hours, add 10 to 15 minutes to taxi on each end.
Now, that will usually be longer in the winter and shorter in the summer due to the jetstream (winds aloft). But the stronger winds that add time to your trip TO Hawaii will shorten the return. I have been on several flights from Honolulu back to SF in the 4 hour to 4 hour and 15 minute range.

About 5 hours. The time change is two hours earlier in HI than in SF.

its a 5 hour flight. It gets kinda uninteresting. i propose a purple eye flight so which you would be able to sleep on the plane and you gets there interior the morning and bypass tanning and swimming :) or carry your iPod, they have food in firstclass and so as that they have got video clips or television shows on the plane. I watched uhm the workplace on the plane and uhm undertaking impossible 3 :)-

SFO-HNL 5 hours, 34 minutes. Time is often off by 15 minutes.
