The bottom line is that people pollute due to apathy, ignorance, greed or they just don't care. Why do people throw garbage out of cars onto the side of the road.

Nonpoint source (NPS) pollution, unlike pollution from industrial and sewage treatment plants, comes from many diffuse sources. NPS pollution is caused by rainfall or snowmelt moving over and through the ground. As the runoff moves, it picks up and carries away natural and human-made pollutants, finally depositing them into lakes, rivers, wetlands, coastal waters, and even our underground sources of drinking water. These pollutants include:
Excess fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides from agricultural lands and residential areas;
Oil, grease, and toxic chemicals from urban runoff and energy production;
Sediment from improperly managed construction sites, crop and forest lands, and eroding streambanks;
Salt from irrigation practices and acid drainage from abandoned mines;
Bacteria and nutrients from livestock, pet wastes, and faulty septicsystems;
Atmospheric deposition and hydromodification are also sources of nonpoint source pollution.

Point sources of pollution occur when harmful substances are emitted directly into a body of water or atmosphere. The Exxon Valdez oil spill best illustrates a point source water pollution.

i'm ill of human beings attacking human beings who smoke. Why shouldn't they have the internal maximum freedom to smoke in the event that they experience like it. I for one might rather see cig butts laying on the floor than McDonalds coffee cups and chuffed meal bags, that are everywhere. truthfully, while it is composed of pollutants, smoking is one in all the final project we could desire to handle. BTW, enable's no longer generalize human beings who smoke. I doubt greater advantageous than a million/4 of them muddle. do no longer call them lazy and rude. that's like asserting everybody who has the two ate at a rapid nutrients resteraunt is grossly obese.

Until recently, the earth was a dirtier place to live, and smoking was not the most egregious pollution around.

When steam locomotives used coal or wood, belching smoke everywhere, no person smoking a cigarette was going to be noticed.
