This woman's water broke at a restuarant and her contractions were steady within ten minutes. The hospital was 30 minutes away. The husband sped and was eventually caught by the cops while his wife is in active labor. HE PULLED OVER!!!! The baby was delivered on the side of the road within a few minutes. Luckily nothing was wrong with the baby or mommy. Would you have pulled over or let your significant other pull over?

Personally, I would've found a way to tell the officer to that we were in labor and we needed to get the hospital NOW! I would've called 911 or something and let them know that I was in labor and didn't care if they wanted to pull us over. I would've said you can do that at the hospital after I get there. What do you think?

If the guy had told the cops his wife was in labor, they would have given him a police escort to the hospital. As a rule, cops don't like to deliver babies in cars if they don't have to. If she delivered the baby within minutes though, there was obviously no time to drive to the hospital. I'm sure the police evaluated the situation and made the best decision.

Personally, I had home-birth with my kids so hospital was not an issue...

Given the circumstances of the story, it sounds as if the baby was going to be born either in a moving car or on the side of the road, so what they did was probably the best thing.

he should of called an ambulance!

its a good thing the they pulled over. otherwise that baby would of been born in the car at high speeds while the police was chasing them. thats like a car accident waiting to happen. the police are trained in first aid and they can get an ambulance faster than he could of gotten to the hospital.

I think you should pulll over and let the officer know what is going on. This woman was not going to make it to the hospital so it wouldn't had made a difference.

I think it was wise to pull over. The police had no way of knowing their circumstance, so they might have thought it was a criminal. Also, there is no legal reason for speeding. If you're caught you could possibly face charges of wreckless endangerment of the woman and the baby!

i think it is pretty easy to sit back and second guess someone else's decision.
he did what he thought was the right thing to do at that moment. we weren't there so how can we judge.
find something else to natter about!

I absolutely agree with you. And the officers should have implemented it themselves and immediately.
