My sister died in 2002. She left her mobile home to her son who is unable to maintain it. He is now 22 years old, no parents, unemployed. His family is trying to help him with decisions. The mobile home needs new flooring, plumbing, and general repairs. Is there an organization or company he can donate to? Thank you for your sincere responses.

The short answer is likely NO. These homes tend not to age well and cannot be safely moved. My Aunt learned that the hard way- the mobil home park she lived in was re-zoned and the land was set as commercial property. All the residents had to leave- she tried desperately to have someone move her mobile home to another location but no one would take on the job- it was 15 yrs old and had deterioated too much to move. She eventually had to walk away from it and it was bulldozed with the rest of them. Sad, but true.

Most towns/cities have ordinances prohibiting m/homes
which were manufactured BEFORE a certain date (usually about 20 years old).

Other towns/cities prohibit them completely.

There are "mobile home manufacturer associations", in most states. The one in my state accepts donations of m/homes which are "rehab-able". They update them, and offer them, in rural areas, as affordable housing for low income residents.

Habitat for Humanity, etc. do not use them, as a rule.
It sounds like it is in bad shape, and not usable for anyone.

You might call a local m/home sales office, and inquire what would be required for them to remove it, and "scrap it".

Working with low-income residents, I've seen the older mobile homes are difficult to get rid of!
Best to you.

Ask around to local churches and even the salvation army. If you would like to make some money with it you might be able to ask a local trailer park or RV center to buy it from you for an office or a place for the manager to sleep.

a lot depends on where you live, here in rural pa. lots of us use old trailers as storage sheds for hay/feed. you may want to ask your local zoo/ dog pound, garden center if they would want it. use the local papers to place a for free ad, try the red cross. good luck.
