two weeks! you have to wear flip flops only for the duration of the healing process. if you don't you can seriously screw up your tattoo. i have had each of my feet tattooed and both times i had to wear flip flops for two weeks.

you can start to wear sneakers a couple days after you get it. I had to because of work. I just put a small amount of bacitracin on it, covered it in gauze, and put a sock over that and wore loose tennis shoes....ONLY when I had to. If you can prevent it then dont wear tennis shoes until it has finished healing (around 2 weeks....
sometimes a little longer because it is on your foot). When you dont HAVE to wear tennis shoes, wear flip flops or flats that do not touch or rub the tattoo or you will be looking at a messed up tattoo after a while. good luck.

That's a good question, I have been wondering the same thing I want to get a tattoo on one of my feet, but I will probably wait until spring the weather here in Michigan is crazy and flip flops are not an option right now. I am guessing no tennies for at least 2-3 weeks ......

The ink is UNDER your skin so tape gauze over it and wear sneakers if anything you will be keeping it cleaner

at least a few weeks. there can be no irritation on fresh ink.
