All scripts are obtained through the various licensing companies. You don't just get hold of a script; you MUST obtain a license first. Many licensing companies control both where and when plays and musicals can be performed. If you try to go around getting a license by bootlegging a script, you could invest a lot of money and effort into a production and then find yourselves shut down. Also, school shouldn't be a place that promotes illegal activity.

Here is the index of all musicals and their licensing companies:

"High School Musical" is being licensed through Music Theatre International:

Sadly....you cant get an exact script like the movie and you need to legalize the production with the company...i know its REALLY hard and REALLY expensive...we did this at our school and we made $2000 with 5 productions....

to get the scripts and musical information go to....http://www.mtishows.com/show_home.asp?id=000304

Tell your director that....i warn you its REALLY hard to get the scripts we ordered them in august and got them in december. You also have to send them back after your done so MAKE COPIES!!! Lol

If you already didnt know it SO isnt like the movie since it is a school musical. The auditions is a huge song now They also put in 2 songs....Cellullar Fusion(there is actually no point in this song it just gets to Stick To The Statis Quo a litle smoother....we cut it and just changed the words a bit) the second song is Counting On You(in this song they put the Gabby and Troy fighting scene where they get mad at each other afterwords) At the end there is also a HUGE finally with all the songs in the musical.

I have to tell you though that you can change the lines and do WHATEVER you want as long you have the original scripts which means you have permission to give a public performance.

I REALLY HOPED I HELPED A LOT!!!

I wish you would do the Broadway Play, Fiddler On The Roof!" The audience would LOVE IT!

You could get the script from Mr. Issac Stern if you wrote him, I'll bet. Try Carnegie Hall Board of Directors
