That doesnt mean "stand there like an idiot". Jesus said to flee them if you are persecuted. You can easily throw bullies into the mix. Being picked on is persecution no matter what the reason is for being picked on.

Jesus had a purpose to serve - he faced the bullies down. His destiny was calling and he answered. As for us, there may come a time when we are cornered and can not run - in which case, Jesus serves as our example. however - if there is room to walk away from a fight - walk away from the fight.

It really does take more nerve to stand there witthout fighting back than it does to start swinging out of anger. Its all too easy to start swinging, and having used to be a bully then later following Christ - I can honestly tell you - it takes every ounce of my intellence and physical strength to excercise restraint to avoid retailiation than it does to go working some bully's head over.

Jesus could have done any number of things to stop what they were doing to him. He could have spoke the word and they would have dropped dead on the spot. He could have easily called down a legion of angels to clean house for him. He could have given the word and an army of peasants would have freed him that night. But he stuck it out to the end.

Anyone who resists pounding someone who is hurting you deserves a medal of valour.

A Man is to be Protecter-Provider-Priest for His family,Whatever
it takes, that I will do,If a Man is Infirmed ,I am required to help Him.My Sons are grown now,There wasn"t as many Bullys then, there Dad hadn"t gone A>W.O.L. as Opposed to todays "Fathers. Most "Bullys.I have known, have never had A Man to say No to them,Today it is usauley a Police Officer Who Has to say no,Unacceptable Behaviour.
As to allowing a "Bully" to Ride Rough Shod over Me are Mine,
You can come down Hard on Bully ,The Lord will even show you how.,But You can not Harber Hate in Your Heart, after"Discussion"or a Stop Lesson,be quick to Forgive.
