I'm going to preface this by saying that I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (i.e. Mormon). This is how I understand the doctrine.
There are two type of death: 1) physical death (which is the separation of the spirit and the body and 2) spiritual death (which is the separation of humankind (us) from God.
For us to be return to God we need to overcome both types of death. We overcome physical death through the resurrection (the rejoining of our spirits and bodies in a perfect, immortal state) which is provided for everyone (wicked and righteous John 5:29) through Christ's resurrection.
We overcome spiritual death by being cleansed from our sins and made holy so that we can re-enter the presence of God. Once again this is provided by Jesus Christ and his great sacrifice but is made available to those who will come unto him.
I'm sure that a lot of people will disagree with me because *gasp* I am mormon. But I do think the Bible supports what I am saying.
p.s. baryianni - we believe Christ came to America after he had appeared to his apostles in the old world (i.e. after his resurrection).

Well since the physical resurrection IS the spiritual resurrection (you can't separate them) i would say that he believed in the resurrection, both physical and spiritual.

do you mean st paul the simple? or paul of tarsus? i'm assuming the second. i'm pretty sure that he had a vision of Jesus' actual resurrection, as in physical. i'm not actually sure what you mean by spiritual resurrection, unless you refer to jesus' spirit flying over to america to found the mormons while he was entombed?

The physical ressurrection is that of Jesus body, But it was done by the Spirit of God. Therefore Paul knew what he believed.

Physical, I believe, as the spirit of Christ wasn't what died, it was the body.
