She seems to enjoy running more in one direction than the other but, once in awhile will switch it up. She seems totally oppsessed.

TOTALLY NORMAL. Think about it. Little kid, learned to walk not too long ago, learned to run not too long ago, figured out she can control the directions in which she walks and runs. Sounds fun to me! Laugh about it, play music for it and even try starting a red light, green light type of game with it. As long as she's not running into stuff on purpose, let her go. She'll be burning up all that energy that can keep her up late at night too! Enjoy and good luck!

Be happy they aren't playing extreme hockey with dad in the house. But at 16 months, I think she's having fun and liking the sensation. I used to bounce on the couch (like rocking without the rocking chair) People used to ask my why I did it, but it was just soothing for me and a way to burn energy because I couldn't sit still. But, there is nothing wrong with calling the doctor to see what they think.

learning how to run in circles without falling down is a very joyful experience for a small child.
Unless she ONLY runs in one direction, there's no cause for alarm.
IF she were to constantly veer into on direction ONLY, I would have her ears checked. The sense of balance is in the ears, and a problem in the ears can cause a balance maladjustment.

Not only is it normal but it will give him good excersice and wear him out for a good nap or nights rest. Try to get invovled by telling him let me see how fast you can run from one place to another back and forth this will help him stop being dizzy and have fun!

Don't worry dear! Kids are goofy at times and this is one of them! Have fun as the others have said. Make a game of it. Smile and enjoy the times. To soon they grow up. ( I bet this is your first) My God bless you for being concerned. For God has blessed you with a happy child

It's just a new thing that she is proud of. "wow mom look what i can" Kids just seem to like going in circles, merry go rounds, carousels, spinning in chairs, pretending to be ballerinas, twisting in swings, etc. My son is 17 months old and he likes to spin too. it's quite cute. it's part of his dancing. I remember liking to spin as a kid. now as an adult, yeah right, I'll get sick.lol. Just enjoy your daughter, have fun, join in, and teach her new ways to spin. it's good gross motor exercise.

I wouldn't worry. My son is 2 and 1/2 now but when he was that age he would jump everywhere he went. Also.......he has been sleeping w/ his shoes on for 6 mnths. We got him little slippers.....because if we didn't he'd be sleeping in his tennis shoes. He's starting to ease up on it a little but.....yeah.....they are funny!

Obsessed? I think thats the word you were going for.

I wouldnt be worried about it. All humans tend to favor one side over the other, its what makes us either right handed or left. Unless she has some other psychological or neurological issues I wouldnt think twice about it.

She wants to run, but doesn't want to get too far away from you. Don't panic.
