I have a new baby and not much time for my cat. He's begging for attention, but I rarely get a moment. My friends and family play with him, but he wants me to. I feel bad about it. What do I do?

Well, can your friends and family play with the baby for a little bit instead of the cat? This will give you more one on one time with your kitty.

Also, can you take a blanket that the baby had slept in and put it where your cat sleeps? My sister did this when she had her son and her cat seemed to get the idea that the baby wasn't a bad thing if his scent was in her bed. If that makes sense. Then she just made the most of the few minutes she had with the cat. Once the baby was down for a nap, she went and played with Thunder or took a nap with her. It took about 2 weeks, but everyone is one big happy family now.

Good luck to you all and congrats on the new baby!

Well you know that one of the easiest things is dealing with jealosy. Talk to her while taking care of baby. Ask her if she wants to see. Involve her with what you are doing. pick her up and show her it is ok to be near. be sure to pet her and comfort her while introducing her to the baby.Cats are very intelligent and just a few minutes of you talking or petting her will help the problem. Everyone has 5 Min. to make of an animal. Let her sit with you and the baby on the couch if she feels that you can pay attention while sitting and feeding the baby you problem will end. Also just holding her will help even if you are sleeping she is getting her cuddle. It is all the same to her your just there to be with her. Good Luck & Congrats on the Baby!!!!!
