Hate or apathy? Would you rather have a friend or spouse hated you so strongly that he/she wished death upon you, or rather have a friend/spouse whose life would be little or no different if you were dead?

I prefer neither they are both leaving something to be desired. You really have some issues don't you?

Depends if it's the kind of person who would actually develop and carry out a plan to make me dead.
Otherwise, I feel apathy is worse.
Outright hatred I would just steer clear of the person. But apathy I would strive to make things better because there is no blatant manifestation as of said hatred. And then suffering and frustration would ensue because they won't allow it to work.

Damn! That's deep. . .I guess hate because the true source of the hate and anger is coming from the intial bonding of love. . .and to know i was once loved by my spouse (regardless of the current hate) is more emotionally satisfying then to know he doesn't care at all. It takes a lot more energy to hate someone then love them. . .and apathy would seem like there was no bond or form of love to begin with :-|

My spouse.....Because that would be who I love and together we made a promise to each other...That has now turn into hate and now wishing death upon me. I would not care about a friend if a friend wish good or bad....Friends are like money they come and go.......Sometimes they are good and other times they are not....

Hate is never a good thing, too much emotion and energy. I would rather have people never talk to me agian, never look at me, talk behind my back then to wish me dead. I dont know if that answered your question or not. The person that is full of hate, that is their problem not yours. You should need to worry about other peoples haterd.

hm that is tough. i think hate and apathy go hand and hand...apathy leads to hate i think. or maybe vice versa. so i suppose i'd rather take the apathy to begin with...that way i know to just move on...possibly avoiding the hate.

I had a spouse that was completely indifferent to me. It was the most painful thing I ever experienced.
